Cardiology
Cardiac Rehabilitaton Program
Restoring your health through exercise,
education and encouragement.
You’ve had heart problems. That’s scary. And
you might be wondering if you can ever feel fit, strong and
safe again. The answer is yes – if you decide to take
control of your health, and ask your physician for a referral
to the Cardiac Rehabilitation program at Saint Mary’s.
Our Cardiac Rehabilitation services include structured exercise
and education programs designed to speed your recovery. We’ll
help you regain the strength and flexibility you’ve
lost. We’ll teach you how to change your lifestyle to
help avoid future heart problems. And we’ll help you
feel more positive about yourself and the future.
The goal isn’t to make you feel like your old self
again. It’s to make you feel better than your old self.
So you can enjoy all the things you love to do for many years
to come.
Our program includes:
- Educational classes for you and your family members offered
on-site weekly as well as by appointment.
- Personalized exercise program using a variety of exercise
equipment, including a treadmill, Nustep and rowing machine.
- Activity monitoring using a state-of-the-art telemetry
system.
- Motivational support from our exercise therapist.
Who should participate?
Anyone who has been diagnosed with cardiac problems within
the past year, and who wants to make a change in the way they
move, eat and live. Participants will enjoy the safety of
a medically supervised program and the personal attention
of trained experts.
Will insurance cover Cardiac Rehab?
Medicare and many other insurance companies may cover most
of the cost of cardiac rehabilitation. We encourage you to
check with your insurance carrier to obtain coverage information
before enrolling in one of our programs.
How do I get started?
A doctor’s referral is required to enter both the Cardiac
Rehabilitation and Wellness Programs. Contact your doctor
to ask for a referral or ask one of our staff members to contact
your doctor directly. We can be reached at (616) 752-6432. |
